STORYLINE: A flying saucer drops out of the nightsky and into a remote countryside. Robo Senior prepares to leave the spaceship to run a small errand. His son, Robo Junior, wants to go with him. Pop says no. Robo Junior is disappointed that he can't go, so Pop gives him a ball to play with while he's gone. Robo Junior bounces the strange ball while Pop "beams down" and heads off toward a nearby farm. Robo Junior loses the ball and spots a control knob that looks just like it. Grabbing the control knob, he unwittingly starts up the saucer which flies off leaving Pop rummaging through an old barn.
The Air Force quickly picks up the "UFO" on radar and scrambles two jet interceptors. They close in on Robo Junior, who now is playing with the curious-looking controls on the control deck. He touches a hologram display of one of the jet interceptors which launches a energy missile at the pursuing aircraft. Thinking they're being attacked, the jet interceptors fire heat-seeking missiles at the flying saucer with little effect.
Robo Junior manages to elude the attacking aircraft by hiding out at a drive-in movie theater showing the latest sci-fi thriller. He returns the spacecraft to the farm without Pop ever knowing the trouble he got into. |
